The character “Chatty Pianist,” developed by Emir Gamsız in New York and turned into a concert series at one of the world’s largest art complexes, Lincoln Center, is now in Turkey. In their new work, prepared with actor, director, and writer Ege Maltepe, who has worked in New York with Oscar-winning director Mike Nichols and many other masters, two music lovers embark on an adventure in pursuit of the riddles that the Chatty Pianist has scattered across different countries. This work, in the form of a Theatrical-Concert created by Gamsız and Maltepe, tells a story woven with the music of J. S. Bach and embellished with the most interesting and entertaining secrets of mathematics, music, architecture, and philosophy, from Mimar Sinan to Al-Khwarizmi, from Fibonacci to Ibn Khaldun. The characters, brought to life by our rare talents Ege Maltepe and Ali Pınar, who can perform in multiple languages, along with the animations created by Nalan Alaca, who has over 50 children’s books and turned the Chatty Pianist into a cartoon character, and the live performances of Bach’s unique works by the Chatty Pianist, invite children and families on a riddle-filled, adventurous journey.
The show lasts a total of two hours, including an intermission.
Chatty Pianist “Bach’s Riddle” premiered in one of İstanbul’s largest concert halls, Cemal Reşit Rey Konser Salonu and continued successful runs in Sureyya Opera House since 2022.
